Hello, we are the Knill's, a first generation family-owned wood sign business located in Northern Michigan. Our business is built around high level craftsmanship, creativity, and the belief that a sign should feel like it truly belongs where it’s placed.
KnillCraft Designs officially became a business in 2022, after years of woodworking as a hobby and creating custom pieces for family and friends. What started small quickly grew into a passion for designing and building one-of-a-kind wood signs with character, detail, and lasting quality.
Today, KnillCraft Designs focuses primarily on custom wood signs for homes, properties, driveways, and businesses.

Meet the Craftsman
A One-Man Shop, with a Little Help
At the heart of KnillCraft Designs is craftsman, Jason Knill, who designs, builds, carves, finishes, and completes each custom wood sign by hand.
This is not a production shop with a team of employees moving projects down an assembly line. Jason personally handles the craftsmanship behind each piece from start to finish.
Behind the Scenes
Elizabeth Knill, Jason's wife and second hand. You will interact with her when it comes to the administrative side of the business.
Frank Knill, Jason’s father and retired Master Steel Fabricator with over 50+ years of experience. Throughout his career, he constructed steel beams on skyrise buildings in downtown Detroit, burglar guards, ornamental fences, and decor for stairwells, porches, gardens, and more. All custom brackets and hardware are designed and hand-crafted to perfection by this Steel Craftsman!
